Feel The Pea: Middle Schoolers To Perform Funny 'Once Upon Mattress' Musical In Caldwells

CALDWELL, NJ — The 1959 Broadway musical "Once Upon A Mattress" was a funny take on the Hans Christian Anderson fable "Princess and the Pea," with music by Mary Rodgers. How will middle schoolers from Caldwell and West Caldwell handle this classic?
You can find out this weekend as the students of Grover Cleveland Middle School put on perfromances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. (Note: The play will actually be held at James Caldwell High School.)
The musical has been performed over the years on Broadway and on TV, with notables as Carol Burnett, Buster Keaton, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Zooey Deschanel playing roles.

Tickets are only $5 for the middle school show. They can be purchased at the door.
Performances are Friday, June 2 at 6:30 p.m.; Saturday, June 3 at 2 p.m. (followed by a cast meet and greet), and Sunday, June 4 at 2 p.m.
