Mount Soccer (20-2) edged top-seeded IHA, 2-1, in the NJSIAA Non-Public A, North State Sectional Final Tuesday afternoon, on the Blue Eagles' home turf in Washington Township to take home its first-ever State Sectional Championship. Freshman outside midfielder Sophia Giordano scored the first goal with approximately 30:00 remaining in the second half, with an assist from sophomore forward Gianna Camporeale (Caldwell). Senior center mid Eliza Haghighi scored the eventual winning goal with a header from freshman defender Aanya Davitt with 9:00 remaining in the game Senior goalie Frankie Mansfield (North Caldwell) was busy in net with 8 saves.

The Mount will now meet South Non Public A Champion, Princeton Day School, in the overall state final, 6:30 p.m., Friday (Nov. 10) at Franklin High School.
