‘Mugs For Mutts’ Raises Funds For Caldwell Animal Rescue Group

Rescue Haven Foundation, a nonprofit animal rescue group based in Caldwell, held its 2nd annual Mugs for Mutts event at the Cloverleaf Tavern, also in Caldwell, on Monday, October 8th, Columbus Day. The event was held to raise money to aid in the necessary medical care of the organization's rescued animals currently in foster care with the end goal of placing them in loving homes. The Cloverleaf Tavern graciously hosted the event and donated a percentage of bar and food tabs of any patron coming to the tavern on behalf of Rescue Haven throughout the day, with a special event held in the evening between 6-9 p.m.

Several local businesses also donated small gift items and gift certificates offered as door prizes to aid in the group's goal to surpass last year's fundraiser event. Businesses offering gift items included Bari's Baubles, A Touch of Wellbeing, Soho Nails, Aladdin Video Services and David Chad Beauty Parlor, among many others.

The event is one of many which the group holds throughout the year to support their cause. "We are truly grateful and honored that our community stands behind our rescue efforts and helps support us by coming out to attend this now annual event," added Robin Kreiner, Treasurer and Volunteer Coordinator of Rescue Haven Foundation.

"I've lived in Caldwell for many years and didn't even know an organization like Rescue Haven existed right here in town. We were very excited to win the prize for J.T.'s Barbershop and really happy to help Rescue Haven raise money for the animals," said Elsa Slater, a local resident of Caldwell, who attended the October 8th event.

The mission of Rescue Haven Foundation is to save dogs and give them a chance at a new life. Volunteers of Rescue Haven foundation provide foster homes that nurture each dog's physical and emotional health and well-being through support and training while also locating each dog's ideal forever home. All of this is done to assure that each rescue will have a positive and permanent experience. Rescue Haven Foundation is a registered 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization. The group seeks volunteers for dog care but also fundraising, event planning, applicant screening and many other duties necessary in helping dogs find their proper, adoptive homes.
