NJ's 'Best Towns For Families': See Where The Caldwells Ranked

New Jersey is home to more than 500 municipalities, and the vast majority of them are great for families.

According to New Jersey Family magazine, some are better than others, and a new list has come out ranking each and every one of the 508 towns based on a handful of criteria.

The magazine’s website used school district quality, crime rates, affordability, commute times, and other “lifestyle factors” to come with its rankings.

Here are the complete Essex County rankings:

• #10 – Essex Fells
• #12 – North Caldwell
• #89 – Verona
• #99 – Livingston
• #100 – West Caldwell
• #126 – Caldwell
• #174 – Millburn
• #203 – Cedar Grove
• #248 – Nutley
• #252 – Fairfield
• #258 – Roseland
• #271 - Montclair
• #272 – West Orange
• #277 – Maplewood
• #279 – South Orange
• #429 – Belleville
• #465 – Bloomfield
• #499 – East Orange
• #502 – Newark
• #506 – Orange
• #507 – Irvington

Oradell in Bergen County ranked number one overall, while Hoboken in Hudson County came in dead last at number 508.
