THE CALDWELLS, NJ — Police in the Caldwells chased two burglary suspects into the woods, then needed to use a drone to help find them — ultimately catching them in an Uber, police said last week.

Police said that last Tuesday, March 21, at 8:46 p.m., the North Caldwell Police responded to Skyline Drive on a report of two people trying to burglarize vehicles.

Sgt. O’Neill, Officer Johnson, and Officer Roszkowski responded, and O’Neill saw two people fitting the description walking on the Crossing, police said.

A thermal imaging drone searched the wooded area.

Cedar Grove Police took both suspects into custody. They then turned them over to North Caldwell Police for processing, according to North Caldwell Sgt. DePoe.
