THE CALDWELLS — She won't be comin' round the Mountain (Avenue) when she comes — at least, not during the day.

Police in North Caldwell said this week that due to a PSE&G gas construction project, a portion of Mountain Road will close to through traffic from Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. for two months.

"The Mountain Avenue 'cut,' from Falcon Point Drive to Lindsley Road, will experience daily road closures," police said.

Portions of Mountain Avenue will be open to local traffic only. Detour signs will be posted.

The detours will create additional traffic on the East Greenbrook Road, Lindsley Road, Grandview Avenue and the surrounding secondary roadways, they said.

The project began early this week. However, it was suspended temporarily just for Monday due to inclement weather.

"Please allow additional travel time and follow posted traffic detours accordingly. Your patience during this project is appreciated," police said.
