NORTH CALDWELL, NJ — Emergency responders used hydraulic tools to rescue a trapped driver after a car crash in North Caldwell on Tuesday, authorities reported.

The North Caldwell Fire Department released a statement about the crash and rescue:

“At 9:38 a.m., members of the North Caldwell Fire Department were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with airbag deployment. Upon arrival on scene, it was determined that one of the drivers was confined in their vehicle. Engine 4’s crew put their hydraulic tools to work and removed the door as the West Essex First Aid Squad arrived on scene. North Caldwell Police and North Caldwell DPW also assisted on scene. Engine 6 and Car 7 were also on scene.”
