CHATHAM, NJ— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

This submission comes from Mariah, Macey & Robbi who nominated Michele Flannery-Wardius of Chatham.

What makes your mom extra special?

Our mom is always putting her family first. She is constantly working hard to provide for us and always takes time to spend with us despite her hectic schedule. She is the best grandmother to her grandkids and would do anything for them. This summer she is taking a leap and opening her first business, Toastique, in Chatham and we are praying it be a success for her and the start of something great!

Why do you feel your mom deserves the spotlight?

She is the most selfless and understanding parent and has given (and continues to give) us every opportunity in life that she is able to. She fully supports us in all we do and trusts in our decisions.

Happy Mother's Day to Michele Flannery-Wardius, and thank you for all you do!
