CHATHAM, NJ — A middle school student here in Chatham is now a published author.

According to the School District of the Chathams, Aishani Ghosh, an eighth-grade student at Chatham Middle School, made good use of her time during the COVID-19 pandemic.

At just 10 years old, Ghosh channeled her energy into writing her first novel, “The Quest of Magic: Book 1: The Quest for Kira,” which was published earlier this year and is now available for purchase on Amazon and at bookstores such as Barnes and Noble.

As a young author, Ghosh has crafted themes that resonate with young readers. “The Quest for Kira” follows the journey of a new student who arrives at the National Academy of Magic and then goes missing.

Young readers are able to join Kira’s friends as they try to solve the mystery of her disappearance and try to rescue her.

The book was also illustrated by Ghosh's sister, Annesha Ghosh.

When Ghosh was asked what inspired her to write a novel at such a young age, she shared that "she would be overjoyed if her passion for writing can make others happy."

Ghosh's teacher, Jacqueline Chirico, encourages people to read her book, commenting that Ghosh is a “brilliant writer who has worked hard to realize her dream of publishing a novel.”
