Chatham Schools Close Due To Snow, Road Conditions

CHATHAM, NJ — All schools in the School District of the Chathams will be closed on Tuesday due to the inclement weather and hazardous road conditions, said district officials on Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a winter weather advisory for all of New Jersey's 21 counties until Tuesday afternoon.

The NWS is predicting up to two inches of snow with a mix of sleet in the area, making it dangerous for drivers on the road.

Today: Snow, mainly before 3 p.m. High near 31. Northeast wind around 10 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. The chance of precipitation is 90 percent. Total daytime snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Thursday: A slight chance of snow after 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 30. West wind 10 to 15 mph. The chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Thursday Night: A chance of snow, mainly after 1 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 23. The chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
