CHATHAM, NJ — How to find COVID tests and information about quarantine periods have been concerns among many of New Jersey's residents.

With a "soaring demand" for testing, the County of Morris has reopened its free, appointment-only COVID testing center at the County College of Morris, with more details here.

According to the County of Morris, since the pandemic began, as of Jan. 7, Chatham Borough had 1,114 and Chatham Township 1,408 COVID-positive cases. This compares to Dec. 30, when there were 949 total positive COVID cases in Chatham with 1,204 in Chatham Township; and Dec. 27, when there were 859 cases in the borough and 1,105 in the township.

For Morris County residents who are uninsured, Zufall Health also offers testing, with appointments required. To set up a time, visit www.zufallhealth.org.

New Jersey’s Department of Health has a statewide testing database, with more information on in-person test sites found here.

At home tests are also an option with the state’s Department of Health and Vault Medical Services having partnered up to offer the COVID-19 PCR saliva test kit, which is free to New Jersey residents. See more information about ordering these tests here.

Pixel by Labcorp is a kid-friendly, nasal swab test option for ages 2+. There’s no fee for the test for anyone who is experiencing symptoms, if they’ve been exposed to someone with COVID, if they’ve been asked to test by a health department or doctor or if they live or work in a congregate setting.

The Pixel tests run $119 though for “peace of mind” or other screenings, such as for travel or school. Click here to learn more about this testing option.

Testing is also typically available within the School District of the Chathams for Chatham students and staff, each Wednesday and Friday at Chatham Middle School between 3 and 4 p.m.
