CHATHAM, NJ - Chatham residents should expect “heavy” traffic on Main Street this week due to milling and paving operations on two borough roads, local officials said.

The roadwork, slated for Tuesday and Wednesday, will close Lafayette Avenue and Chatham Street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Chatham police said.

Washington Avenue will also be closed to accommodate the road work, police said. Overnight parking on those streets will not be allowed.

Local traffic and residents of the affected streets will have limited access. Vehicles on side streets should be parked with authorized parking, police added.
