Police Benevolent Association 170 Announces its First 'Trunk or Treat' in Chatham

The event takes place following the Halloween parade this Sunday.

Chatham High School is about to be taken over by a slew of zombies, princesses, ghosts, ghouls -- not to mention some sweet treats and stylish cars.

The event, put on by Police Benevolent Association 170, takes place Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. with the costumed children starting off the parade at 2:30 p.m. The children will then travel from vehicle to vehicle collecting candy in a safe trick-or-treating area.

All persons wishing to participate in giving out candy may email the Chatham Township Police Department at [email protected] with the subject line “Trunk or Treat.” Prospective applicants are asked to include whether or not the vehicle will be decorated and how many children will be attending.

Once there is an estimate of the number of children participating in the parade, the department will contact you. The department asks all participants to make sure to have at least one piece of candy per child. All vehicles participating in the event should arrive at the parking lot no later than 2 p.m.

Attendees have until Thursday to RSVP.
