CHATHAM, NJ — The highly anticipated free "Night of Music" event has been officially canceled due to expected inclement weather in the area.

The musical event, which was sponsored by the Chatham Performing Arts Boosters, was scheduled to take place on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in downtown Chatham.

Strolling musicians and singers from Chatham High School and Chatham Middle School were expected to perform holiday music along Main Street, Bicentennial Park, Memorial Park and the Reasoner Park gazebo from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

"Unfortunately, the Night of Music scheduled for 12-15-22 at Reasoner Park has been canceled due to expected inclement weather. Happy Holidays. Drive safe," police said.

The signature event was intended to highlight talented Chatham students while raising funds to support music and theater programs in Chatham schools.
