Registration Opens For Chatham Inclusion Preschool Program

CHATHAM, NJ — The School District of the Chathams has announced that they are currently accepting letters from Chatham Borough and Chatham Township resident families interested in the Inclusion Preschool Program.

In order to be eligible, a child must reach the age of three prior to Oct. 1, 2023, and must not be turning five before Oct. 1, 2024. All children must also be toilet trained in order to attend.

The program runs five days per week in either an a.m. or p.m. session. The cost of the program is $3,300 for the 10-month school year.

Transportation to and from Milton Avenue School must be provided by the family.

Children are selected on a year-round basis via a lottery process.

The lottery drawing for September 2024 enrollment will take place on Feb. 2, 2024. Selected families will be notified during the week of Feb. 5. Children not selected and children submitted on or after Feb. 2 will remain in the lottery pool and will be selected as openings occur.

The inclusion preschool is made up of both special needs children and generally developing preschoolers. Children with and without disabilities are provided with learning opportunities to enhance academic and social achievement in a "We All Belong" environment, according to administrators.

To have a child included in the lottery, send a letter of interest with the child’s name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth and verification that the child is toilet trained to:
