CHATHAM, NJ - As a kick-off to the Holiday Season The Chatham Turkey Trot will host its 11th Annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot, a 1 Mile Family Fun Run and a USA Track & Field certified 5K Race in the scenic Highlands section of Chatham Township, on Thanksgiving Day.

Last year's run started at the corner of Seminole Way and 110 Van Houton Ave. and the Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Department will hang a 50-foot American flag from Ladder 12, its 100 foot aerial ladder truck, above the race course as runners raced through what the organizers call one of the most scenic neighborhoods of Chatham Township.

Since its inception in 2009, the race has raised more than $150,000 benefiting the Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Department, the Diabetes Research Institute, the Chatham Emergency Squad and The Barton Center for Diabetes Education.
