Amiel has been a teacher at KIPP Lanning Square Middle School for four years and his class is a favorite among all scholars. He has created a scholar-led classroom where scholars create presentations, question each other and lead discussions. Scholars feel safe to take risks and feel empowered to push their own thinking because of his strong relationships and genuine belief in their abilities. His history lessons are relevant and focus on ensuring scholars see themselves in history and make connections to society today. He shows up every day with energy, enthusiasm and love whether it is 1st period or 7th period.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the teacher?

Amiel accepts teaching is more than ensuring scholars master the objective. It is about inspiring scholars to believe in themselves, see their potential and tapping into their greatness. He accepts this responsibility and puts scholars first every single day.
