Fossella, Hamilton, Alvarez-Gomez place in Union County Track Finals

The Cranford Track & Field team competed in the Union County Championship Meet held in Plainfield on May 24/25th.

Meet Highlights: Soph Ben Fossella placed 5th in the Discus with a PR throw of 123’ 00”, 13 feet over his previous best. He also placed 6th in the Shot Put throwing 45’ 05.50”.Senior Zoe Hamilton placed 5th in the Triple Jump with a season best jump of 35’ 05” and 8th in the Long Jump, 16’ 05.50”. Frosh Isabella Alvarez-Gomez placed 5th in the 400 Hurdles running 1:07.51. Junior Liam Godwin went 41’ 07.5” in the Triple Jump (PR) placing 7th. Junior Owen Usinowicz placed 7th in the Pole Vault with a PR of 10’ 06”. Senior Arial Hsu threw 87’ 04” in the discus, good for 8th place. Frosh Nicholas Maloof ran a blistering 53.29 in the 400 Meters. There were 37 personal best performances by the Cranford Track team at this meet!

The Boys Team placed 14th while the Girls Team placed 16th.

Next on the schedule is the State Sectional meet being held at Randolph High School on June 3rd and 4th.
