Jersey City Penthouse Renter Finds Value & Lifestyle at Citizen Linden

"Feels like walking into a hotel. Very modern and cool."

LINDEN, NJ – Does a rental building in downtown Linden have more cachet than a Jersey City penthouse?

For long-time Hudson County resident Ricco Rodriguez, the answer is most definitely “yes.” Mr. Rodriguez was renting a penthouse in a Jersey City residential tower known for its hip ambience and pristine views of the Manhattan skyline last year, but he decided to make a change. He loved his living situation, and the energy of Jersey City, but his daily commute was taking its toll and he knew he could get much more for his rental dollar if he moved closer to his place of work in Linden.

Mr. Rodriguez visited a few new apartments in Hudson and Union counties before discovering that Citizen Linden, a brand-new luxury rental community, was about to open next to the Linden train station, a few blocks from his office. Citizen Linden offered the type of upscale, amenity-rich living he enjoyed in Jersey City. It was beautiful, new, and excellent value. He chose a two-bedroom residence and was one of the first residents to move into the community when it opened in January.

“For me, what I love about it is it feels like walking into a hotel. I can come and go with no issues, and it has that San Francisco luxury feel to it. Very modern and cool,” Mr. Rodriguez said. “I really took my time searching for the right place, and when I finished, I was set on Citizen Linden. I thought it was a great deal for all that they were offering.”

Mr. Rodriguez was originally looking for a one-bedroom apartment, but selected a two-bedroom, two-bath residence because the value was there. The extra bedroom comes in handy when family members visit. The residence is spacious, the kitchen is thoughtfully designed, and he has a private balcony.

Mr. Rodriguez is a personal trainer who runs the department of fitness at Goodwin Trucking Group, a program the company established to cater to the health, wellness and nutrition needs of its employees. He has leaned into his new lifestyle since moving to Citizen Linden. He rides his bike to work in the morning, doles out fitness and nutrition advice during the day, and returns home in the evening to relax in his new apartment, or head downstairs to the community’s gym, to get in a workout himself.

As a frequent traveler, Mr. Rodriguez loves Citizen Linden’s location near the airport, and just around the corner from the train to NYC. He enjoys the local fabric. He visits hangouts such as Abigail’s Café, The Grill, and the Linwood Inn Tap House. The people he meets are invariably friendly, and while it is different than living in Hoboken or Jersey City, there are plenty of fun things to do, and the neighborhood feels like it is poised for further growth.

Located at 307 West Elizabeth Avenue, Citizen Linden is a collection of 234 luxury rental residences, 4,500 square feet of street-level retail space, a 292-space parking garage, and plentiful indoor and outdoor amenity spaces, developed by Accurate.
