With winter approaching, many people will suffer from seasonal depression. East Brunswick Public Library (2 Jean Walling Civic Center) teams up with Saint Peter's Healthcare System for the online program “Dancing To The Winter Blues” on December 6 at 5:00 pm.

Led by Dr. Lorraine Gordon, Ph.D., LPC, CCTP, CDM, this program addresses how the winter months can cause anxiety or depression. Discussion topics include assessing vulnerability and risk to depression during any of the seasons, identifying the presence of depressive symptoms, and demonstrating coping skills learned to manage symptoms of seasonal affective disorder.

Dr. Gordon has extensive experience working in community mental health, private practice, university and hospital settings. Specializing in trauma and crisis counseling, she is a certified clinical trauma professional and was an American Red Cross disaster mental health responder. Her clinical areas of interest include trauma, crisis management, Marriage, Couple, Family Counseling, and Multicultural Counseling. In addition, she is the manager of a population health initiative program at Saint Peter's University Hospital.
