EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — On Monday, Council adopted an ordinance allotting $630,000 for lighting the cricket field on Heavenly Farms.

According to Business Administrator Joe Criscuolo, the field will be ready to play on by mid to end of September.

Electric and irrigation concerns led to some delays in the project.

“We ran into issues with the pumps that feed the irrigation system. We had problems with specific wiring from PSE&G to the shack. At this point in time what were are going do is run by it by generator,” Criscuolo said.

With power outages in the summer, the Township will find it tough to schedule things with PSE&G, Criscuolo said.

Also, officials have been keeping a watch on the scorching temperatures while planning to lay the sod.

The new field will be located across the dog park at Heavenly Farms.
