Middlesex County Cooling Centers Open Wednesday

A heat advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Here are cooling stations that will be open near you:

A combination of heat and high humidity will lead to dangerously hot conditions through the weekend in Central New Jersey and Middlesex County. A heat advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, and temperatures will reach the mid to upper 90s Friday through Sunday with heat indices near 105.

Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency, call 911.

In addition to the heat, the remnants of Tropical Storm Barry will be making its way towards the area Wednesday into Thursday. Heavy rainfall and flash flooding are possible.
