EAST WINDSOR, NJ — Do you live in East Windsor? How much did you pay in property taxes last year? According to latest information provided by the state, East Windsor residents saw an average increase of 1.03 percent in their property taxes for 2020.

The data released this month comes from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA).

According to information provided to Patch, the average property tax bill in East Windsor was $8,519.

Here's the breakdown for last year's property tax bill in the township:

  • Average Residential Property Value – $259,288
  • Average Total Property Taxes - $8,519
  • Percentage Increase From 2019 – 1.03%

New Jersey's property taxes, which are the highest in the nation, went up. On average, the state's property taxes rose 1 percent, from $8,953 to $9,112, between 2019 and 2020. But it was lower than the 2 percent cap, according to the analysis.

By contrast, between 2018 and 2019, the average homeowner's tax bill rose from $8,767 to $8,953, an increase of 2.12 percent.
