Dwight Morrow HS Partners with Stop & Shop to Fight Food Insecurity

The Englewood Public School District today celebrated its partnership with Stop & Shop through the Stop & Shop School Food Pantry Program. Stop & Shop generously granted a $7,500 donation in Stop & Shop gift cards to support our school's food pantry.

The Stop & Shop School Food Pantry Program aims to address the issue of food insecurity among students of all ages. Recognizing the importance of nutrition in academic success, Stop & Shop collaborates with schools to establish and maintain food pantries, ensuring that students have access to nutritious meals and essential resources.

“Stop and Shop’s main charitable effort is to eliminate hunger in the communities we serve, and we believe that no student should ever have to go to class hungry,” said Daniel Wolk, External Communications Manager of Stop & Shop. “We are proud to support the launch of the Dwight Morrow High School Food Pantry, so it may ensure their students have access to the food they need to help them flourish in the classroom and reach their full potential.”

Dwight Morrow High School is excited to collaborate with Stop & Shop in addressing insufficient access to nutritious food. This substantial donation will allow us to establish a food pantry to offer essential assistance to those experiencing food insecurity in our community.

The $7,500 donation in Stop & Shop gift cards will empower Dwight Morrow High School to purchase a variety of food and personal care items, including fresh produce, non-perishable goods, hygiene products, and more. By addressing the basic needs of students, the school aims to create a supportive environment where every student can thrive academically and beyond.
To ensure that resources reach those in need, Dwight Morrow High School and the Englewood Public School District will implement a structured distribution system. Designated days and times for food pick-up will be identified, creating an accessible and organized process for families to register and ensuring that every resource serves our school community.
