Passaic County Begins Fair Lawn Avenue Bridge Replacement Project

The bridge will be closed staring tomorrow, March 4, until further notice. Here's what we know about the project.

FAIR LAWN, NJ — A new bridge to Paterson is coming to Fair Lawn, and a new bridge to Fair Lawn is coming to Paterson, according to Fair Lawn officials.

Passaic County will begin a Fair Lawn Avenue bridge replacement project starting Wednesday. This project will close the bridge "until further notice" while improvements are made, Fair Lawn officials relayed Wednesday.

The new bridge will include a sidewalk, two full travel lanes, widening at the Route 20 intersection, traffic signal improvements on Fair Lawn Avenue and localized drainage improvements, officials said.

Traffic will be detoured until the project is completed.

According to a Northjersey.com report, the $12 million project is funded by the federal Department of Transportation.
