Bergen County Man Charged With Sex Assault Of Child Under 13: Prosecutors

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Saddle Brook man has been charged with the sexual assault of a child under 13, prosecutors said on Monday.

The office of Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Jonathan Barrios, 27, on charges of sexual assault by sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child.

Prosecutors said that on May 25, 2023, the Midland Park Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child under the age of 13. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Midland Park police led to the determination that a suspect sexually assaulted the victim in Midland Park.

Barrios was arrested and charged on Friday in Saddle Brook. He was taken to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, prosecutors said.
