FAIR LAWN, NJ — A Fair Lawn baker and multiple time contestant on Food Network cooking shows has announced her next move: a cake shop in Glen Rock.

Cristina Vazquez is a Food Network Spring Baking Championship finalist and champion of the network's Halloween Cake Off. She also operates Petal Dust Cakery, and plans to open a brick and mortar store sometime this summer.

"It gives me so much overwhelming joy to finally announce that Petal Dust Cakery will be opening up shop this summer in Glen Rock," she wrote.

"This has been such a long journey to get to this announcement with so many amazing people who have helped along the way to make this dream possible and even more amazing clients who have patiently given endless support throughout all of the craziness and growing pains."

The location of the shop hasn't yet been announced, but Vazquez did say it would be somewhere "off of Rodney street around the corner from Rock and Main."

"I always wanted a small “hole in the wall quirky styled shop”. As if it was something you would find in the city.... a little pastry shop/ cake studio located in an unexpected place bringing a touch of sweetness to a unique location," she said.

Vazquez also has a unique connection to Glen Rock.

"Glen Rock is the town I started baking in when I was 15 years old," she said.

"I worked for free at a bake shop a few days after school and on weekends just to learn the craft... and now opening my shop in town feels full circle."
