Fair Lawn Bank Receives Community Service Award

Columbia Bank was recognized for its citizen service improvement efforts, a news release said on Tuesday.

FAIR LAWN, NJ — Columbia Bank, headquartered in Fair Lawn, received the New Jersey Bankers Association Community Service Award for its efforts to "improve the lives of citizens and communities in which they live," a news release said Tuesday.

Judging criteria used were community impact, number of programs, support of diversity efforts, staff participation and volunteerism, and total asset size, the news release said.

"Giving back and impacting our communities is ingrained in our culture at Columbia Bank." Thomas J. Kemly, president and CEO of Columbia Bank, said in the release. "Receiving this award is an affirmation that we’re making a difference."

Columbia Bank supports charity partners through donations, grants and volunteerism. Employees give back through toy and food drives, and walks for a cure, and the bank's foundation is "one of the largest in the state," the release added.
