FAIR LAWN, NJ — A new pediatric development center in Fair Lawn will help children with learning or developmental disabilities "reach their full potential," the CEO and founder said in a release.

Shared by two New Jersey behavioral therapy companies, the center — which will offer a suite of therapy services — celebrated its grand opening at 15-01 Broadway on Tuesday, the release said.

"The two companies work together to provide a perfect mix of therapy options, from autism-focused (interventions), medication management, social skills groups, and much more," Dr. Joe Galasso, founder and CEO of the companies, said.

The COR Behavior Group and Baker Street Behavioral Health will offer a "safe and inclusive" environment through the center, providing clients with therapies and groups that "encourage the development of positive behaviors and life skills," a spokesperson said in the release.

Specifically, the center will provide clients with a treatment program designed to promote skill development and symptom reduction.

Clients can also make use of a sensory room, gym, kitchen and laundry area. As a result, they can learn "well-rounded" life skills — all with 1-to-1 oversight from behavioral analysts, psychologists or therapists on staff.

Additionally, the center will provide neuropsychological evaluations with no waitlist — a "solution" to the potentially six-month-or-longer wait times for the assessment elsewhere, the release said.

Before cutting the ribbon on the center, CEO and founder Galasso said the facility is going to help a lot of families — work that is, in fact, the "lifeblood" of what COR and Baker Street do.

"I'm excited to see what the center does and the future work that (our staff) does in this space," he added.
