Fair Lawn Child Hit By Car, Suffers Multiple Injuries

A 9-year-old was hit by a car on Wednesday, causing a head injury and broken bones, police said.

FAIR LAWN, NJ — A 9-year-old boy suffered a head injury and multiple broken bones after he was hit by a car in Fair Lawn on Wednesday afternoon.

Fair Lawn police responded to 17th Street near Morlot Avenue around 3:53 p.m. on a report that a juvenile was hit by a car.

Police said the boy had crossed 17th Street "suddenly," and was hit by a car driven by a 58-year-old Fair Lawn woman.

He was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Paterson after it was diagnosed he suffered a head injury and broken bones.

No charges will be filed, according to Fair Lawn police.
