PATERSON, NJ — Three people were treated for serious injuries after a head-on collision at the 17th Avenue and McClean Boulevard intersection in Paterson early Wednesday morning, the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office announced.

A 20-year-old Paterson man was operating a Kia Forte when the vehicle collided head on with a Honda Accord, operated by a 63-year-old Fair Lawn man.

Both of those drivers and a 22-year-old passenger in the Kia, also from Paterson, were transported to Saint Joseph's University Medical Center for treatment of "serious bodily injuries," the Prosecutor's Office said.

A third vehicle, driven by a 57-year-old Hawthorne woman, collided with the Honda at the intersection, and then hit a guardrail. The woman was also transported to Saint Joseph's, where she was treated for minor injuries and released.

The Prosecutor's Office said no charges have been filed, but the investigation is ongoing.
