Fair Lawn Police Department To Host Annual Junior Police Academy

The Fair Lawn Police Department will be hosting its annual Junior Police Academy this year from Monday, August 8th to Friday, August 12th. This year’s junior academy training will include visits to the Bergen County Law & Public Safety Complex in Mahwah & Nickelodeon Universe Indoor Theme Park in East Rutherford. The junior recruits will receive training in police tactics, drug and alcohol awareness and internet safety. They will also see demonstrations conducted by the Bergen County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit and Bomb Squad and DEA Special Response Team, plus visits by the Fair Lawn Fire Department, Fair Lawn Rescue Squad and Fair Lawn Ambulance Corps.

Junior recruits need to be between the ages of eleven (11) and fourteen (14) by August 1st to be eligible to apply.
