Fair Lawn Schools Hire New Business Administrator

FAIR LAWN, NJ — Fair Lawn Public Schools officials announced the hire of John A. Serapiglia Jr., who will serve as both the school business administrator and secretary of the Fair Lawn Board of Education.

Serapiglia's employment with the district began on Sept. 29, and he will report to Superintendent Nicholas Norcia while managing the business affairs of the district.

He brings more than 14 years of experience as a school business administrator in North Jersey, most recently with the Passaic County Manchester Regional and Haledon Boards of Education, where he served in the role since 2011.

From 2007-2011, he served as the Business Administrator/Board Secretary for the Denville Board of Education. In 2000, he began his career working in the business office at Bergen County Technical Schools in Paramus, where he served as the assistant to the business administrator and operations manager.

He has served as an instructor, as well as mentor, for the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials, and has taught a finance class for the Business Administrator Certification since 2017. In 2020, he taught as an adjunct professor teaching school finance at Montclair State University.

Serapiglia resides in Westfield with his wife and three children.
