Fair Lawn's Tracy Eisser Poised To Win Rowing Medal Wednesday

Eisser's quadruple sculls team beat Australia by six one-hundredths of a second to secure the last spot in the final Wednesday.

FAIR LAWN, NJ — Tracy Eisser's dream of winning an Olympic medal is nearly here.

Eisser, 26, and her quadruple sculls team will row in the final Wednesday after beating Australia by six one-hundredths of a second to secure the final spot in the repechage.

The U.S. team finished third in its first heat to advance to the repechage, which gives those best-placed team who failed to win a heat a chance to row for a place in the finals.

Eisser was a track and field star at Fair Lawn High School, but switched to rowing at Cornell University. She is competing in her first Olympics. She was named to the Olympic team June 20.

The U.S. team will be in Lane 1 Wednesday and will face off against Poland, Ukraine, Germany, Netherlands, and China.
