Funeral Mass For Brooke Costanzo Is Thursday

Costanzo, of Saddle Brook, died Monday morning after her car crashed into a tree on South Brunswick road Sunday night.

SADDLE BROOK, NJ — Funeral arrangements have been set for Brooke Costanzo, the beloved 16-year-old cheerleader and Saddle Brook High School student who died following a car crash earlier this week.

A funeral mass will be at at Our Lady of Mount Virgin R.C. Church at 188 MacArthur Ave. in Garfield. Thursday at 9 a.m.

Costanzo died Monday morning after her car crashed into a tree in South Brunswick. Authorities are trying to confirm why Costanzo, who did not have her driver's license, took her mother's 2012 Honda Pilot without permission and ended up in Middlesex County. South Brunswick police said they found Costanzo's phone among the vehicle's wreckage and are searching it for clues to try and determine what she was doing in the area.

Costanzo was a junior. She played lacrosse and volleyball and was a cheerleader. She also worked with the school district's before-care and after-care programs, Saddle Brook Superintendent Anthony Riscica told NJ.com.

Hundreds of people attended a candlelight vigil in her memory at Saddle Brook High School Tuesday night.
