PARK RIDGE, NJ - One lucky New Jersey Lottery ticket was purchased in Park Ridge last month, state lottery officials said.

The winning ticket from the April 20 Jersey Cash 5 $1,405,135 jackpot was purchased at Krauszer’s, located at 127 Park Avenue, the New Jersey Lottery said in a news release.

The lucky buyer, who typically only plays NJ Lottery draw games when the jackpot is $1 million or more, made his purchase after passing Krauszer’s and seeing a notice that the jackpot was estimated at $1.4 million.

A winner was declared the next day.

“Pulling into a Dunkin’ and ordering a cup of coffee provided a good chance to open the Lottery app and check the numbers,” state lottery officials said in the news release. “The numbers matched, making this player a millionaire!”

The ticket certainly wasn’t the first one sold at Krauszer’s to hit it big, either. Over the past year alone, Krauszer’s stores in Clifton, Parlin, Westfield, Bridgewater and Warren have sold six- and seven-figure prize winning tickets.
