Saddle Brook Linebacker Named To All-Big Ten Team

Steve Longa, a Saddle Brook native and linebacker for the Rutgers University Scarlet Knights, was selected to the All-Big Ten third team by the media and was an honorable mention pick by the coaches.

Longa eclipsed the 100-tackle mark for the third time in his career. He is only the second player in Scarlet Knights’ history to achieve that feat.

His 76 solo tackles led the Big Ten and ranked sixth nationally. He was second in the conference and eighth in the country with 117 total tackles.

Longa had a career-best 19 stops against then-No. 1 Ohio State Oct. 24.
