Zadies Reopens After Car Crashed Into Bakery

The popular bakery reopened Wednesday morning, just two months after a car plowed through the front of the store.

FAIR LAWN, NJ – Zadies Bake Shop is back.

The popular bakery reopened Wednesday morning, just two months after a car plowed through the front of the store.

In a Facebook post this week,the bakery announced its grand re-opening, writing, “Be the first to experience our new floors, windows, glass displays, air conditioning and natural wood shelves. Not to mention you can finally buy all your favorite baked cookies, cakes, bread and pastries!”

A grand opening is scheduled for Sunday.

The building was deemed inhabitable by the Fair Lawn building department following the July 11 motor vehicle crash. That morning, a 79-year-old Fair Lawn woman was pulling into a parking spot at the bakery when hit the gas instead of the brake and crashed through the front of the store.

She and a 90-year-old passenger were not hurt, however a 63-year-old New York man was injured when flying glass hit his leg, according to police. The driver was cited for careless driving, according to police.

Zadies Bake Shop is located at 19-09 Fair Lawn Avenue.
