I've taught with him for the last 5 years.

What does this person teach?

Social studies Grade 6

Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?

John is an amazing teacher, students look forward to his class. He's extremely funny but also firm and kind. His lessons always involve students being active in their learning. He does well planned, thoughtful lessons that encourage open minded discussions. I've rarely heard John ever raise his voice, he's got a special way of dealing with disruptions in class that are always focused on the whole child. He is very aware of his students' strengths and weaknesses and he takes the time to talk to and check in with his students on a daily basis. I co teach with John every day and I look forward to his class as much as the students do. He has so many amazing qualities. Although I've been teaching longer than he had, I look up to him as a master teacher.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the teacher?

He's passionate about his subject matter and he's funny.
