Former Mobster's Fort Lee House Will Be Auctioned Off

NY Waterway founder Arthur Imperatore owns the 1.3-acre property on the Palisades cliffs.

FORT LEE, N.J. - A seven-bedroom man formerly owned by a mob kingpin in the 1940s and 50s will be put up at auction this spring.

The 1.3-acre Bluff Road estate features a 180-degree view of Manhattan. Mobster Albert Anastasia Jr. built the house in 1947 and owned it into the 1950s.

NY Waterway founder Arthur Imperatore owns the estate now.

It will be the first luxury piece of real estate put up by Guernsey's auction house. It had been scheduled to go to auction in last year, but the auction did not happen.

The opening bid had been set at $5.5 million, but Arlan Ettinger, Guernsey’s owner and president, said last year that all reasonable offers would be taken to Imperatore, the report said.

The home was built in 1947 by former mafia don Albert Anastasia.
