NY Waterway Owner's House May Not Be Auctioned Off Today: Report

Arthur Imperatore bought the Bluff Road home in 1970, which was due to be auctioned off Tuesday.

A seven-bedroom Mediterranean-style mansion may not be auctioned off Tuesday as was originally planned, The Record reported.

The home, which is owned by NY Waterway owner Arthur Imperatore, was originally scheduled to be auctioned off today by Guernsey’s, the auction company in charge of selling the house.

The auction of the property, which is in the process of being cleaned up, was announced last month.

Arlan Ettinger, owner and president of Guernsey’s, told The Record that rather than rush the process “for no reason, we’d rather take our time and make sure everything is done correctly.”

The opening bid had been set at $5.5 million, but Ettinger said reasonable offers will be taken to Imperatore, the report said.

The home was built in 1947 by former mafia don Albert Anastasia.
