Learn about these areas of home improvement and safety:

  • Upgrade from original wooden lead windows to new energy-efficient windows and doors.
  • Remove lead paint. Homes built before 1978 are likely to have lead-based paint. Learn how you can ensure a safe living environment for your family or tenants by taking advantage of the agency's free lead paint removal program.
  • Learn about financial benefits of the program.

The program does require homeowners to meet certain qualifications:

  • Income criteria: The tenants or individuals residing in the home must meet 80 percent of the median income of the county. This ensures that the program is accessible to those who truly need it.
  • Home age: The property must have been built prior to 1978 to be eligible for the free lead paint removal and home improvement services.
  • Application process: Learn about the application process and how you can get started on making your property safer and more valuable.
