HAMMONTON, NJ — The Egg Harbor City-based rescue that took in dozens of animals saved from a Galloway hoarding situation has two upcoming adoption and foster events for those looking to add a new furry friend to their family.

Kimmy's Safe Haven Rescue took in the dogs after Nancy Santos, 57, was charged with 43 counts of animal neglect. Police said they found seven dead pets in her freezer and 36 living animals in "inhumane conditions" at a Galloway home. Read more: Dead Pets Found In Freezer Of Galloway Home: Police

At the upcoming events, both of which are at the Hammonton Tractor Supply Co., many of these rescued dogs are looking for foster homes, a volunteer with the rescue told Patch. The situation is still making its way through the legal system so fosters are needed, as Santos is still technically the owner of the pets.
