Atlantic City Airport Lands On National List Of Unusual Cargo

A deodorant stick concealing bullets at Atlantic City International Airport topped a nationwide list of unusual items found at checkpoints.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — A deodorant stick concealing bullets at Atlantic City International Airport topped a nationwide list of unusual items found at checkpoints in 2021.

The Transportation Security Administration released the list in a video on the agency’s Twitter account.

Six bullets hidden inside a stick of deodorant were found by the security team at Atlantic City International Airport on Sept. 4.

“Bullets are not permitted to be carried through a security checkpoint. It was a creative attempt to subvert security, but of course an X-ray machine can detect bullets,” the TSA said in a statement.

The item triggered an alarm, alerting the TSA officers to take a closer look.

The concealed bullets were ranked 10th on the TSA's list, followed by a pistol that was detected at Newark Liberty International Airport.
