Man Charged In Gas Station Armed Robbery: Egg Harbor Police

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Philadelphia man was charged Tuesday in connection with an armed robbery at the Sunoco gas station in the Farmington section of town, police said.

Egg Harbor Township police arrived at the gas station on Fire Road around 5:35 p.m. The victim told police that a suspect approached the gas booth, brandished a handgun and demanded the money before he fled on foot, police said. The victim was not injured during the incident.

Officers checked the area of the Fire Road Apartments and located a suspect fitting the description on Fire Road.

The man jumped the guardrail and ran into the apartment complex, where he was located and taken into custody, police said. Evidence from the robbery was located, including the handgun used, which was discarded by the suspect when he fled from officers.

Lamar Morrison, 19, was charged with robbery, possession of a firearm for unlawful purpose, possession of a handgun, aggravated assault, possession of a large capacity magazine, unlawful possession of a weapon and receiving stolen property.

All of the charges were placed on a warrant with the authorization of Judge Timothy McGuire and Morrison was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

This case is being investigated by Detectives Michael Santoro, Richard Vogt and Katrina Cantell of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department Criminal Investigations Bureau.
