South Jersey Native Tapped To Play Anthony Bourdain In Biopic

Rising star Dominic Sessa, who grew up in Egg Harbor Township and Ocean City, will reportedly take on another Jersey native in a biopic.

NEW JERSEY — An up-and-coming star is reportedly set to portray a fellow New Jerseyan in an upcoming biopic.

Dominic Sessa, who grew up in Egg Harbor Township and Ocean City, will play gourmand Anthony Bourdain in the biopic "Tony," according to a report from Deadline.

Sessa, 21, has quickly risen in fame since his breakout role last year in the Oscar-nominated hit "The Holdovers." It was his first movie. He has a few more coming out, including "Now You See Me 3" and "Tow."

Bourdain grew up in Leonia and spent many summers at the Jersey Shore. The celebrity chef and author died from suicide in 2018.

He, too, experienced overnight success. His Travel Channel show "Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations" ran for nine seasons as he traveled the globe, experiencing various cultures and cuisines.

Details about the upcoming biopic are slim. It's not clear what stage of Bourdain's life the biopic will cover.
