1st Day Of School In Gloucester Twp.: Dates To Know For The Upcoming School Year

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Students will return to class in just a few weeks in the Gloucester Township and Black Horse Pike districts.

This year, Black Horse Pike students begin class on Sept. 4. Gloucester Township Public School students will start the year two days later.

With the summer winding down, here are some key dates for both districts:

BLACK HORSE PIKE REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

• Sept. 4: first day of class, half day for students.
• Oct. 1: Back to School Night, half day for students.
• Oct. 4: Rosh Hashanah, school closed.
• Oct. 14: Indigenous Peoples' Day, school closed.
• Nov. 5: school closed for students.
• Nov. 7-8: school closed for the New Jersey Education Association convention.
• Nov. 27: half-day for students and staff.
• Nov. 28-29: Thanksgiving recess.
• Dec. 23 to Jan. 1: winter recess.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP PUBLIC SCHOOLS

• Sept. 6: first day of class, one-session day for Grades PreK-8.
• Oct. 4: school closed (administrative closing).
• Oct. 11: one-session day for Grades PreK-8, teacher in-service day.
• Oct. 14: Columbus Day, school closed.
• Nov. 6: teacher in-service day, school closed.
• Nov. 7-8: school closed for the New Jersey Education Association convention.
• Nov. 13-15: conferences, one-session day for Grades PreK-8.
• Nov. 27: one-session day for Grades PreK-8.
• Nov. 28-29: Thanksgiving recess.
• Dec. 23 to Jan. 1: winter recess.
