Celebrate Ice Cream Day With Deals At These Gloucester Twp Area Shops

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The screams for ice cream will likely be louder than usual Sunday in South Jersey and around the United States.

'Why' you ask? Because Sunday is also the 38th observance of Ice Cream Day in the United States, according to the International Dairy Foods Association.

With inflation at its highest level in decades, we searched for ice cream deals in and around Gloucester Township to commemorate this unofficial holiday. The results of our search are below.

• Alden's Ice Cream says it is offering $1 off all of its ice cream products. Look for their frozen treats inside the ShopRite at along Blackwood-Clementon Road and the other one along Chews Landing Road in Gloucester Township.
  

• Coldstone Creamery, which has a location at Washington Center Shoppes in Sewell, is offering guests $4 off purchases of $20 or more that are made through their app. (Haven't downloaded it yet? The company says you can still get the deal if you don't download it until Ice Cream Day.) Coldstone Creamery is also providing free delivery on select online orders and ... if you buy $25 in gift cards from ColdStoneCreamery.com you may get a $5 Bonus eCard.

• Dairy Queen, which has a location at 4840 State Route 42 in Turnersville, says it will take $1 off the price of any dipped cone, so long as you purchase it through their app. FWIW, their chocolate dip has been around for years, but more recently, it introduced a fruity-flavored dip.

• Friendly's, which has a location within the Gloucester Premium Outlets in Gloucester Township will give you a free medium sundae if you download their app. In addition, once you buy five medium or large sundaes through the app, the company says your next medium sundae is free.

• There are also a number of lesser-known but still equally amazing ice cream shops like Hilltop Creamery at 1540 Black Horse Pike in Blackwood and the Custard Shack at 700 S. Black Horse Pike in Blackwood.

• Last but not least, we're almost positive any diner, such as Lamp Post Diner on Little Gloucester Road and the Meadows Diner on the Black Horse Pike, both in Gloucester Township, will have some kind of ice cream available.
