School Board Elections Take Shape For Gloucester Twp., Black Horse Pike

Several candidates filed petitions to get on the ballot in November. Take a look at who is running locally.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Seven candidates filed to run for Gloucester Township's Board of Education election, while three Black Horse Pike incumbents faced an uncontested race.

Monday marked the state deadline for school board candidates to file petitions to get on the Nov. 5 ballot. The school boards for the Gloucester Township and Black Horse Pike districts each have three seats available.

Terms last for three years on both boards. The candidate fields are not yet final, as the petitions must be fully certified.

In Gloucester Township — a K-8 school district — Board Members Linda Gilch and Kia Gore are running to retain their seats. Board President Anthony Marks, whose term expires at the end of this year, is not on the list of candidates running for school board.

  • Jennifer J. Storer (incumbent), "Putting Students First"

All candidate information comes from the Camden County Clerk's Office.

The Black Horse Pike Regional School District allocates 7 of 9 board seats to Gloucester Township, including all three positions up for grabs this November. The remaining two seats — split among Bellmawr and Runnemede voters — are not up for election this year.

Early voting will take place from Saturday, Oct. 26 through Sunday, Nov. 3. The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 5.
