WINSLOW TOWNSHIP, NJ — Two swimmers who went missing were found dead Monday in a Camden County lake, according to reports.

Officers went to Penbryn Lake Wildlife Management Area at about 3 p.m. for reports of possible drownings, according to 6abc Action News. A group of four people went into the water, and two of them called 911 when the other two swimmers didn't return, the news outlet said.

Penbryn Lake Wildlife Management Area is a popular fishing destination. But swimming is prohibited at the protected state lands.

Four people have drowned in Camden County in recent days, including two toddlers who drowned in a backyard pool Sunday in Bellmawr.
